Joining the Tech enabled learning panel discussion

Assoc. Prof. Dr -Ing. Sim, Tze Ying obtained her PhD in Engineering from the University of Kassel, Germany. Her PhD research was on engineering education. She joined Sunway University in 2013 and had been heading the Centre for American Education since 2015. She also leads the Global Digital Talent Program in collaboration with Alibaba Business School. Her Software Engineering background influenced her to pay attention to process integrity and process improvement. Two main aspects of process improvement are process simplification and process automation. Process improvement frequently requires tasks to be done differently. Therefore, change management is a critical aspect of process improvement. One essential factor for success in change management is the stakeholders. She conducted various training related to change empowerment to help the company prepare its staff for change. Another area of her research is making programming simple for non-programmers. This includes the motivation of learning, the methodology of delivery, and integrating programming related activities to the secondary school syllabus. Having the motto "Education can make a difference", her passion includes making quality education accessible to the common, improving gender equality and reducing inequalities.
